On a night much like last night.. windy and raw.. by lantern, as we were without power due to the storm,  Vidahlia our oldest and best Mom delivered her triplets like an old pro…

and not two hours later Pansy, a first timer.. delivered with only a little assistance from me… young Jonah.  Historically not all of our birthing ewe’s deliveries went so well.. but we were blessed  that chilly March night. 🙂 I’m wishing all shepherds as smooth deliveries this lambing season.

It’s lambing season on many farms this time of year and on a weekend much like this past one, this little guy came into the world on our farm.

Tobey’s weigh-in @ 5 minutes old

Winds were howling through the barn, we had no power and he decided to deliver breech. So by kerosene lantern and a little assistance from me he was born healthy along with his two sisters.. triplets! We were going to name him ‘blizzard’ for obvious reasons 🙂 but instead decided on Tobias.. Tobey.  So, I’m wishing all shepherds a much calmer upcoming weather week and smooth birthings.
