It’s finally beginning to look and feel like summer in our neck of the woods! Down in the Cove, the lobstermen have been readying for another busy season, foot traffic has picked up along our beautiful Marginal Way, shopkeepers are re-opening every day, and clearly the bumper to bumper crowds we see each new season has begun.  But who can blame them, as according  to USA Today, Ogunquit has just been named America’s number one ‘Best Coastal  Town’!!

Though all of we locals are thrilled with the recognition, in the backs of our minds we’re secretly wondering, where will we put this influx of yet more visitors?!

During the summer months, the population of tiny Ogunquit swells as visitors flock to our lovely pure white sandy beach backed by sea grass-covered dunes along our stunning Maine coast. Before gaining fame as a resort community, we attracted prominent artists, but now, besides gallery hopping, visitors can whale watch, explore the tidal pools and estuaries, kayak, hike, or go deep-sea fishing just off our coast too!

And no visit to Ogunquit would be complete without a stroll along our breathtakingly panoramic Marginal Way, or a stop into one of the many quaint shops, and you’d be hard pressed choosing just one, from the hundreds of fine dining establishments, our beautiful ‘Village By the Sea’ has to offer. Let the season begin!
