…. Until Spring! (I’ve chosen to ignore this Tuesday’s forecast of… snow! Ugh! My tulips and daffodils are so confused right now!

Such a nice day yesterday.

The crazy kids are in town for the weekend..( surprised me! 💕) Dinner out @ Mexicano. Delicious! Margarita’s.. plentiful… then a little night fishing!! Brrrr! Crazy indeedy 😜🤣🤣🤣

No bites but plenty of laughter LOL

Echinacea
As I started the spring cleanup yesterday… little do they know, winter is scheduled for a return here next week. ☹️ Mother Nature can be cruel at times.

The boys have been so busy since school let out, soccer, baseball, then vacation #1, then hockey camp for both guys, then Liam’s accident.. sutures come out next week. And in every spare moment they are off fishing. It’s exhausting keeping up with them all! And usually through it all, their best buddy always tags along.

Eli’s catch.. he loves catching porgies LOL

Liam.. our more serious fisherman.. determined to catch another Moby. I gave him one of his great grand dad’s fishing poles.. and he swears it’s his good luck charm now 😊
Our brave patient. First sutures for Liam.. 8 of them! The Cape Cod Hospital E.R was fabulous though.. but no way to be spending his vacation. Overnight admission for a concussion watch, but then he was back on the beach casting the next day.. amen!

Tomorrow our little guy is off to his first overnight, (away from home) camp for the next two weeks ☹️ No visitors are allowed ( I think they should make exceptions for Grams! ) and no cell phones! Ugh ugh! I’m going to be missing our daily chats for sure.💕 He’s our ‘home body’, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fares. He’ll be attending camp with two of his best friends, and we’re hoping that will make it easier for him. It will just make seeing them next month for two weeks even more special.

And puppy Gunner takes all the chaos in his stride LOL. Such a good puppy.. dumb as a rock 😄 but so lovable. He does everything in one speed.. slow! But he’s so attached to the entire family, especially the boys. Schedules are even worked around little Gunner.. so he’s seldom alone. Now if there was only a way to smuggle him into camp, so Eli wouldn’t get homesick.

Good catching this week.. nailed one Moby down on Plum Island. Took her forever to land it! Darn thing weighed almost as much as her! LOL

Family friend.. Rene’s Moby.. 41#.. She was thrilled! 🎣😊 Biggest she’s caught to date.
Last night, some lake night fishing for Liam. Not a Moby, but he was still a happy camper.🎣💕

The first to know that it’s been a successful fishing day.. the gulls appear knowing skipper will provide a plentiful food supply of fish parts, entrails and other bycatch to them of what would generally be discarded into the sea. Much easier than having to dive for their dinners.

My fishing buddy brought me some more cod, with a request for some more of my fish chowder. Payback is fair.. a win win for both of us. 😋 And my freezer is now re-stocked. Boy, does he drive a mean bargain! 😄

I sort of knew I was getting closer when I spotted this..

Moose warning

It was a very relaxing two days.. weather great.. a little chilly in the evening. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking, white water rafting.. a fun get-away with the family. I took it easy though.. just soaking in the last days of summer because the goldenrod is already blooming and the cool evenings have returned (amen!) and up here there is whispering of Fall’s arrival just around the corner…

I didn’t realize we were so close to Mount Katahdin and Canada. The children had a great time.. but next week, it’s back to school for everyone.
